About Emma
I’m a playwright and prose writer based in London, UK, who enjoys writing about neurodiversity, queer characters, dysfunctional families, and the housing crisis. I recently participated in Vital Xposure's Wellspring development programme for disabled and neurodivergent writers run in partnership with Paines Plough, Soho Theatre, Bush Theatre, and Theatre503, which you can read more about in my blog post. I was mentored by Katie Posner from Paines Plough and an extract from my new play, Leila-Dawn, was performed in a showcase at Soho Theatre in February 2024. I'm a member of Relish Theatre's Writers' Network 2023/4, which is a 12-month development programme for LQBTQI+ playwrights.

Edie, my first full-length play, had a short run at Theatre503 in September 2022. The play was selected for development with London Playwrights Blog/Lion and Unicorn Theatre and received an abridged rehearsed reading in December 2021, alongside being longlisted for Theatre503 International Playwriting Prize, longlisted for development with Traverse Theatre, shortlisted for development with Middle Child Theatre, and shortlisted for Through the Mill Playwriting Prize. You can find out more about Edie here.
In Autumn 2022, I participated in ASYLUM Gym, a development programme for theatre creatives. My audio drama commission, Diltie Moss, aired in May 2021 with Eclectic Full Contact Theatre, a Chicago-based audio company. My short plays have been performed at Theatre503, Battersea Arts Centre, Pleasance Theatre, White Bear Theatre, and Theatre Deli and my short stories have been published by Untitled, Dear Damsels, and Broccoli Arts.
